Advice and answers from the Autofy Team

Some Salesforce orgs have picklists set up for States and Provinces, which can sometimes interrupt syncing because the values might not match between systems.

Error: Could not create customer 'Propelware' Details: There's a problem with this state, even though it may appear correct. Please select a state from the list of valid states.: Shipping State/Province

There are two ways to resolve this error.

Resolution 1: Disable Address Pick List

1. Log into your Salesforce account and Click Setup in the upper right-hand corner.

2. Click on Data Management in the setup on the left side of your screen.

3. Click on State and Country picklists

4. Disable the State and Country picklists

5. After you click Disable you will be displayed with the below external pop-up. Click OK.

Resolution 2: Match Your QuickBooks State and Country data to your Salesforce State and Country picklist.

1. Log into your Salesforce account and Click Setup in the upper right-hand corner.

2. Click on Data Management in the setup on the left side of your screen.

3. Click on State and Country picklists

4. Click on "Configure states and country picklists" under #1.

5. Configure your states and countries to match what is in QuickBooks. Open up QuickBooks and edit the Billing and Shipping Addresses for your customers.

6. If you look at the Billing Address and Shipping Address you can see that the state and country are spelled out in full, no abbreviations. Now when I click on the pencil symbol next to one of the addresses to edit you will see that QuickBooks abbreviates both the state and country.

7. Once the state and countries are configured to match between QuickBooks and Salesforce you should not have an issue with this error no more.

8. If you are still confused or need a further explanation, please review this Salesforce article going over the integration values.
